Kevin Fenske

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Kevin Fenske is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in euphonium performance at The University of Texas at Austin and serves as a teaching assistant for the Longhorn Band and Longhorn Pep Band. He is a member of the University of Texas Wind Ensemble under the direction of Jerry Junkin and studies euphonium under the tutelage of Charles Villarrubia. A native of Houston, Texas, Mr. Fenske earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from the University of Houston while studying euphonium with Danny Vinson.

As a performer, Mr. Fenske has been a finalist and semi-finalist at various regional, national, and international euphonium competitions.  Most recently he received the Bronze Medal at the 2018 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival – Euphonium Artist Solo Competition.  Mr. Fenske was also the Winner of the 2018 South Central Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference (SCRTEC) Mock Military Band Competition and a Finalist in the 2018 SCRTEC Euphonium Artist Solo Competition.  He has been named a semi-finalist in other notable competitions including the 2016 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, as well as the 2014 & 2016 International Tuba Euphonium Conference (ITEC) Artist Solo Competition. 

In the genre of marching and pageantry arts, he is a proud alumnus of the seven-time DCI World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps from Santa Clara, California. Mr. Fenske has had the pleasure of working with the former Bands of America (BOA) Grand Nationals Champion, The Woodlands High School (Conroe, TX), and currently serves on the brass educational staff for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps and the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets.

His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, International Tuba Euphonium Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
