Pamornpan Komolpamorn, a native Thai, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in conducting at The University of Texas at Austin, where she also serves as a graduate assistant with the University Bands. She is also currently an instructor of conducting at the College of Music, Mahidol University (MU), Thailand, where she works as a director and conductor of the MU Symphony Orchestra, the MU Symphonic Band, the MU Concert Band, and the MU Brass Band. She also served as founding director and conductor of the Amass Chamber Ensemble (ACE) since 2010, performing various composers and periods from early to contemporary music.
Komolpamorn has appeared as a guest conductor with the Nuova Orchestra AdM, Udine, Italy in 2015 (and was invited again 2017), the Yala City Municipality Youth Orchestra since 2011, the Dr. Sax Chamber Orchestra, the Unity Symphony Orchestra, the Pesante String Chamber, the Bangkok Silpakorn Wind Orchestra as resident conductor from 2009 to 201, the Bangkok Youth Wind Orchestra, and the Thailand Philharmonic Pop Orchestra (2011 to 2014). She has conducted with soloists Steven Mead, Steve Rosse, Paul Luxenberg, Misa Mead.
In 2012, Komolpamorn worked as a producer and conductor on the Mahidol Symphonic Band release the CD recording on the title Winds of Salaya with the world premiere of Zurazak Ut-Za’s Of Faith & Reminiscences. She was also one of seven invited participants at the 2008 “Tomorrow Musical Leaders” conducting workshop with Mr. Bundit Ungrangsee.
Komolpamorn holds degrees in wind conducting and trumpet performance from the College of Music, Mahidol University. Her primary teachers are Christopher Hughes (conducting), and Joseph Bowman (trumpet).
